Matt Love

6:30pm March 7, 2015

Matt Love is almost like family here in Yachats. The Yachats Academy of Arts and Sciences is happy to have Matt Love return with his presentation "One Wrier;s Muse: the Oregon Coast" on Saturday, March 7, 6:30 PM at the Yachats Commons.

In the last ten years, Matt Love has written seven books directly inspired by stories originating on the Oregon Coast. Ranging from the unique legacy of the state's publicly owned beaches to rain to Sometimes a Great Notion (the movie) to care taking a wildlife refuge to Yaquina Bay Bridge to Astoria, these topics dueled his passion to write. Join Matt as he shares the story of how he approached these topics and started his own publishing company to distribute them in an interactive multi media presentation.

Matt Love lives in Astoria on the Oregon Coast and is publisher of Nestucca Spit Press. He's the author/editor of 13 books about Oregon. In 2009, Love won the Oregon Literary Arts' Stewart H. Holbrook Literary Legacy Award for his contributions to Oregon's history and literature. His latest book is A nice Piece of Astoria: A Narrative Guide. He's currently working on a book about teaching. His web site is www.nestuccaspitpress.com.
