The mission of the Yachats Academy of Arts & Sciences is to provide educational and entertainment opportunities for people on the central Oregon coast. Sponsored by Polly Plumb Productions, we encourage the residents of the village of Yachats, Oregon to work with Academy board members to organize those events that they judge to be most enjoyable.
Monitoring Marine Debris
Fawn Custer
Friday September 16th, 6:30pm
Coast Watch Volunteer Coordinator, Fawn Custer, will discuss the marine debris monitoring survey in Oregon and the identification of non-native tsunami species. She will share updates about the debris that has been washing ashore this past year.
Fawn will provide information about other citizen science projects and answer questions about our shoreline and Coast Watch. She will also bring for display artifacts and specimens of tsunami and general marine debris as well as other curiosities found on our beaches.
