Tom Kerns, Director of Environment and Human Rights Advisory, Philosophy Professor emeritus at Seattle Community College, and author of Environmentally Induced Illnesses: Ethics, Risk Assessment and Human Rights, has lectured at WHO Headquarters in Geneva on human rights issues in HIV vaccine research, and served as commissioner on the New Zealand People’s Inquiry into Aerial Pesticide Sprays Over Auckland (2006). Tom, along with the Spring Creek Project at Oregon State University, helped shepherd into being the Permanent Peoples’ Tribunal Session on Human Rights Fracking and Climate Change (conducted fully online from May 14-18) where over 200 witnesses and attorneys from seven nations on five different continents brought powerful human rights testimony and arguments to bear on fracking and climate change.

Come hear how and why the Tribunal was conducted and what its outcomes have been so far.
